Why do I sign? I'll admit that since I graduated high school, I haven't signed as often as I would like to. However, I do still use basic signs when I go nonverbal and I am around people who understand them. I sign to stim and to try to practice more. I like to advocate using sign language for autism, verbal or not, because research has shown that it can improve communication skills. Although I don't sign as often, I still love to learn.
