Total Communication Training vs Vocal-Alone Training

More research regarding encouraging vocal behavior was done by comparing uses of total communication (speak and sign) training vs vocal-alone training. Results showed that a child produced 4x more vocal tact responses using TC training in less than half of the trials performed using VA training.

This shows that signs are effective in teaching and remembering verbal behaviors.
