Research Comparing Using ASL and PECS for Acquisition of Vocal Behavior

This article discusses a research study that is conducted to see how the impacts of using American Sign Language and PECS as a method of communication in autism treatment compare to each other. It was shown that ASL did help subjects to vocalize more, but it is important to keep in mind that each individual is different and may learn and develop different from another.
