Interpreting A TEDTalk on experiencing high school with autism (1:29)

This video of me was for an assignment in ASL 4 class in high school where we had to interpret a speech. I chose this one in particular because it combined my love for ASL with spreading education on autism. I would like to note that in the video, the speaker (and myself when interpreting) refers to the disorder as Asperger's Syndrome, but that term is out of date and now that diagnosis is just classified as ASD.

I added this video to the blog because although it does not talk about benefits of using ASL in the treatment of ASD, I felt that it still fit because I have personally grown to use ASL on my own and it was assignments like this particular one that made me realize that I had the option to sign during times when I may go nonverbal.

(You can hear the audio in the video, but if the sound is too quiet, I have provided the original [full] video)
